Dean and I promised each other that we will act like we are newlyweds for the rest of our lives! I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking...

so much has happened since i last posted...dean's bday, school stuff, and my first deer hunt with my rugged hunter:) Dean's bday was in sept. he turned the big 23! I suprised him with a cameo hunting pack and an elk caller. i had it waiting for him in the bathroom cuz that's where he first goes after class. School is good for both of us, I think I have seen almost everything doing my clinical hours at the hospital but I love it so much!!! And a week ago Dean took me hunting. we spent a night out and woke up early and hiked up a mountain, i spotted a deer but it went over the ridge and so Dean chased after it and shot a buck that just ran right out in front of him! I'll let the pics do all the talking....

Life is full of unexpected things.....

my oh my!!! it's been forever since i've updated this thing. I'll make it quick and short....first of all around the 2nd week of Aug. (12 days after my ovarian cyst thing), Dean and I decided to take a fun little trip to Oakland Cali to see my ole roommate get married. well we had one fun day with my roommate and her fiance and then it was cut short cuz i was having a really high fever, my abdomen was big and in pain. So Dean, being the great husband he is, drove us all the way back straight to Logan Ut-13 hours nonstop- so I could go to the hospital. After a couple hours of tests the doctor came in and said " Well we are going to have to do surgery, your appendix has been ruptured for quite awhile." I got scared for a little bit then I just got kind of worried not because of my ruptured appendix but because school was starting a week later and I knew I couldn't miss or get behind. (I'm so dumb!) We had only a few mins so Dean gave me a blessing and we kissed goodbye as they took me to the operating room-that was by far the most scary and terrible moment of it all cuz I felt so alone. A normal appendectomy usually lasts a half hour to an hour, my procedure took 4 1/2 hours!!! My appendix ended up bursting, fusing it self to the intestines and capsulated itself and was trying to heal. So the surgeon had to remove a chunk of my colon! My scar is Awesome!!! I was in the hospital for 4 days and it was a tough recovery, after experiencing this I appreciate walking, running, eating, sleeping a full night sleep, everything! I'm so blessed to not only have recovered quickly but to be ALiVe!! Dean was my companion sleeping on the hospital floor for 3 days and waiting on me hand and foot for a week later. I'm so thankful for him and for my father in Heaven blessing me with my life. I've now started xray school and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I've never been so happy to go to school:) and we have moved to Logan and we ride our bikes to work and school-so fun!! I know I've had that trial for a reason and I've already realized what it is I needed to learn. Thanks to all my family and friends who visited me and helped and supported me! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Here are the pics to tell the story....

Hospital Run...

So to make this long story short (cuz i feel like i have told this story a million times to 3 different doctors) On monday at like 2 am i woke up in so much pain I felt like it was my appendix so i asked dean to give me a blessing. i fell a sleep for a little longer then i felt it again and i just said "dean we have to go to the hospital" my first thought was if my appendix explodes then i will only have minutes. but i felt like we could make it to logan so we went there and i was put in a room and the nurses came in asking questions then the doctor and so they had me take a urine test and the funny thing is i could barely walk and that's what they made me do and as i was walking back from the bathroom i say dean in the room and said"Im going to pass out im going to fall" and thankfully dean caught me and put me on the bed. After that the best part happened they gave me pain meds and dean was sitting right next to the bed, he said i was fast asleep with my mouth open and my left eye was part way open and i woke up once and told him "i feel so good!" i laughed later about that. then i had an ultrasound done and they finally figured out what was wrong..i had some ovarian cysts that had burst in the middle of the night. the fluid surrounding my uterus was causing the sharp pains. And all they can do for that is to make sure that my ovaries are normal and my uterus and give me pain meds and send me home, so it is now wed. and i feel a lot better I'm just really weak and tired. I'm just so thankful that Dean is a worthy priesthood holder and i know that the blessing helped me get the courage to go see a doctor. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and for putting up with a big baby like me:) I dont know if i am the only one that feels this but i feel like when i am in the most pain is when i realize what is important and that isnt how i look or the things i have it is my family and my savior. And Im so grateful for the eternal covenants we make so that no matter what families are forever!!!!

I love to see the temple....

This last week Dean's mom, Geraldine, invited me to come along with her and Boone and Shalese (Dean's siblings) to her sister, Karen's house and attend the Oquirh Mountain Temple open house. I had never been to an open house so i decided that it would be fun to go. It was actually a hard decision to make cuz it was the first night away from my husband! We have been married for almost nine months and it was very hard to leave him. But i did have a great time with my family....My favorite part was seeing the Oquirh temple and doing a session in the Draper Temple. It was my first time going to the temple without Dean, it was sad not to see him near me but i had such a warm feeling cuz i know that my Heavenly Father is looking out for me and blessed me with an amazing husband and family. All i could ask for in this life is for my husband and family to be happy and healthy and i feel very blessed to be where i am. I absolutely love the temple!!! (if you look closely at angel moroni's underarm it is blackish cuz he was struck by lighting!)

We also visited the largest open pit mine...they mine copper, silver, gold and something else that only Boone can say:) (cuz he is super smart!) Anyway....this pic is of me by the tire of one of the dump trucks! crazy huh!!! And another fun thing we did was swim in Karen and her friends swimming pool in their backyard. it was so fun!! and i know that someday i would like one in mine!!

here are some late posted pics of boating....Dean and I successfully got up together on one wakesurf board, but couldn't after that! Shalese captured me when i was screaming, my face looks so weird, i dont know how i got my mouth to go sideways like that. we had so much fun and I just LOVE summer!! im going to be so sad when it starts getting cold...

R.I.P MARTHA.....

I'm kinda late posting this but tragically one of our chickens were murdered! one night dean and i were late getting home from softball and as we were walking out to the barn to close the door on the chickens we came upon feathers everywhere!! and all i could say was "oh no!!" the other ones were safe in the coop but dean found martha the next morning and her head was bit off. We have heard that minks and skunks do that cuz they like brain! i was so sad! i got so attached especially to martha but i guess that is just part of the circle of life... so i hope martha is in heaven with endless bugs, food, and dirt to dig up.

so, Dean and I have been really lake hungry. all we want to do is go boating so we did the next best thing and went on some wave runners. It is so much fun when you two ppl on one. Dean and I went over this huge boat wave and flew off of the machine. my family was watching from the shore and they said it looked so neat. too bad no one grabbed a pic i guess it happened too fast and i just love this pic of my 'baby sister' maxee she was so funny....we are really excited to go on saturday with dean's sister and her family cuz we just LOVE BOATING!! (we are excited if you can't tell kirsten!!)

We had a good fourth of july, we just did wh
atever we felt like in the moment. we went fishing then we went to Lewiston parade, rodeo, horse races, softball games, then we took a nap and went to my parents and shot off fireworks which was great cuz my crazy older brother bought some illegal ones that was just as good or better than Logan's fireworks! it shot up but a couple of them kind of went up and back down so they looked like a golden shower was falling on us! it was so intense!!!! We hope that everyone else enjoyed their holiday and remembered the true meaning of it and the gratitude and pride we need to show!

Our four new family members....:)

So, Dean and I have adopted four Rhode Island Reds....aka chickens!! We are havin so much fun playing little house on the praire! Dean decided one day that we should get some chickens I thought 'um ok but where are we gonna put them?' So dean one day had a brillant idea to fix a little part of our barn and hooked up some wire to keep the critters out and then Dean's mom found someone where we could get chickens from and we brought them to our country home. So now we are the proud owners of Martha, Ruth, Nellie, and Ester!! In the pics we are cradling Martha (she is the most outgoing one). I've never been around chickens before so i'm kind of uncordinated at holding them but I've been practicing and Im getting better.

On saturday Dean was fixing our dryer so he needed some nylons and as he was about to go downstairs to the laundry room he asked me if i had ever put them on my he
ad i hadnt so we tried it and I think that is the funniest thing ever!! The things we do to entertain us!!! (I never knew how much eyebrow hair i had until doing this, and Dean looks like something from Narnia:)) And the other pic is of our well growing garden. It is a lot of work!! but I can't wait until we have some veggies blooming!! Well, that's the latest news from the Hansens....until our next adventure...

CaMpIng FuN!!!!!!!

So i have to hurry but i wanted to hurry and put up some pics of this past weekend of Dean and I. This was the first time camping since we have been married we went with Dean's old mish comp and his wife, matt and amanda. We had so much fun! we didn't go to far, we went up to Cub River, it was so beautiful and green! i just love summer time so much!!! i seriously could live somewhere where there is no winter and i would be so happy! anyway here are some pics, I wrecked once on my motorcylce but im so glad it isnt a big bike so i was ok just got a bruise.

The day before we went camping I got myself a new ride!!! I have been wanting a bike for so long and Dean was so good to let me get a pretty nice one. It is so cute and im excited to use it for school this fall when i will be having to drive to the hospital 3 days a week so hopefully we will save on gas money. This weekend was so fun and I just love spending time with my husband and my family. Im so blessed to be married for eternity with my best friend!!!

mom's suprise 50th bday party.....

So my sister's and I this week had fun planning my mom's suprise 50th bday party. it was way hard since my mom is in charge of everything and we were afraid she would find out somehow but we got her! The funny thing is, was that day my dad had 8 pounds of beef out and she saw it and called my sister saying,"dad has 8 pounds of beef thawing so i made a potatoe salad." we laughed over that. And thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law she made this great ice cream cake so I didnt have to worry about making one.

so here are a couple of pics of Dean and I on 'dawn patrol' (that's what hawaiia
ns say when they go out super early to go surfing) but instead of surfing we went fishing and i caught my first fish in a while. I look like a little kid catching their first fish and squeezing it to death so that it won't flap away! Dean laughed when i caught it cuz he told me before we went that when you feel a bite yank back on the pole then reel it in, When i caught my fish i yanked and yanked and Dean said "well, reel it in!" it was so funny but i still caught it! Dean is a great teacher and we have so much fun together!

MinK CriCk

So we have finally moved into our 'summer' home. After some stress of unpacking and things like that we got settled in and absolutely love it up in the country of mink crick (haha no one says 'creek' if you are country). Things that Dean and I have been able to do here so far have been fishing, hiking, roasting marshmallows and riding his dirt bike. The enviornment in Mink Crick is exactly what Dean and I want when we raise a family. I was talking with Annie, my sister inlaw, when they came up to visit and we both have decided that having the mountains as your back yard is a great childhood memory that we hope we can give our kids someday. I hope someday after Dean and I are done with school we can settle in an area similar to Mink Crick or Badger Crick (where I had a summer job by the teton mtns). There is just something special about nature that I think sometimes I take it for granted. And I always think of the hymn, How Great Thou Art. Dean and I feel blessed to live where we do even if it is for a short time, we know that this is where we are meant to be.
Well to explain some of the other pics....the one with the lady playing native american flutes through her nose, I had to take a couple of kids in my class on a field trip and we couldn't stop laughing after I took this picture this lady was so serious and passionate about it. The pic with me chasing our new children:) Dean's mom bought a couple cows, so now we are taking care of them. And then there are a couple of pics of Dean and I playin on our co-ed softball team we are doing pretty good and I just love to see Dean get competitive and mad when he doesn't do something just right:) Well, I think I'm pretty much up to date.....until next time I get to a computer with internet:)
