some updates...

I have been awful at updating this thing but I do have a good excuse..school! I can't wait until I am done and I can relax when I get home from work. anyway...life is good! Dean and I are just living life. here are some pics of what's been going on..

USU vs. BYU game...it was so flippin hot then it got so cold when the sun went down. oh utah!

This pic is from Dean dedicated to Steve and Kirsten...hahaha Dean just wanted to show steve the final score of the game. usually USU sucks but they pulled through this game. I love fall football games!

Dean with Elder Tuiasosopo. These two are so fun to listen to speak samoan! This elder has brought a ray of sunshine in our lives he is so nice and Dean has had a lot of fun chatting it up with him.

Dean got to teach a samoan girl the missionary lessons in samoan with Elder tuiasosopo. I got to go to one of the lessons and it was so amazing!!!!! The gospel touches my heart no matter what language it is in. The girl's name is Lilia and she is the one holding her little cousin. This is her baptism day!

Dean inherited the coolest gun from my grandpa carpenter. It is a 30-6 pump action rifle (which they don't make anymore) He got to take it elk hunting this month. I just love my hunter!!!

Me practicing my shooting for hunter's ed!!!

I passed! I got my hunter's safety and my small game liscence! i'm so excited to go pheasant hunting with Dean and good ole rusty!!! I got this because I want to start getting more involved in hunting cuz I love it! and also because Dean and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary pheasant hunting since opening day is the day before our anniversary!

My all time favorite thing to do in the winter! HOCKEY GAMES!!! I don't know why I like it so much, oh wait yes I do, cuz it is full of action and fights ( I sound like a blood thirsty manly girl in this blog) and I think it is one of the hardest sports out there! I mean you have to be a good ice skater and know how to handle a puck and beat up another guy at the same time!!! It is so much fun to watch USU play!

Mama Hansen blowing out her bday candles with two little rascals helping her:)

Me and some girl friends ( Chelsee, Maurina, and Sydney) at the General Relief Society broadcast in the conference center. I just love temple square so much! you can just feel the spirit and the historical meaning to it all!

My handsome tuff stuff Bode-alicious! Mindy stopped by to see us and I just can't get enough of Bodie! He is so much fun!!!

Addie on her 8th bday! I can't believe my oldest niece is getting baptised! that makes me feel old! ps she has the most gorgeous hair! so thick and blond!

Mama, me, and my dad sporting his winter beard at Jaxon's soccer game. It was so much fun going and watching Jaxon play he is pretty good and the tallest boy on the team!

Something Dean and I like to do is go on picnics at first dam and feed the ducks! i love ducks so much and can't wait til we can have some of our own. i know they stink but they are so darn cute!

Celebrating Dean's 24th bday!!! and of course some help from Parker and Wyatt. They are so hilarious!

Yeah USU 10th ward softball!!! 2nd place champs! we almost took stake champs but we lost by one! oh well, next year we will dominate!!! It is crazy how competitive Dean and I get with sports. I think that is one of the reasons why we fell in love! Ha ha ha! I just love playing any sport and am so glad there are people in our ward that do too it makes it a lot more fun!
I'll be sure and blog after halloween cuz Dean and I are suprising everyone with our creative costumes this year I can't wait to show everyone!!!!

I can't Believe this is Happening!!!!!!

I'm still in shock! Dean and I are spending Thanksgiving here in.......

SAMOA!!!
Dean and I have been searching for tickets to go back and visit his mission in Samoa since we got married. A trip to Samoa has been number one on our list for quite some time and we ran into a good deal that we couldn't turn down!!! I'm so excited! I love listening to him speak the language and hearing stories from these beautiful islands. There is a special place in our hearts that we have for the polynesian people-Dean serving his mish in the south pacific and me attending BYU Hawaii and the poly clubs. We can't wait but until then we are being really cheap and savin every penny we can!

Half of me is missing....

So I just have to get this off my chest and say that it has been one night and one day since my wonderful husband left to go on a fishing, camping trip to the Uintahs with his brothers, dad and cousin! He won't be back until saturday evening so I'm staying with my parents so I can have something to do and someone to be with, but I am dying!!! I've never felt so incomplete and lost before. Good thing Dean doesn't want to be a traveling business man or army guy or any job that takes him away from me cuz I don't think I could handle it. I just sure miss him but am happy he gets to have a fun vacation. So I think I will survive and like my mom says, absence makes the heart grow fonder!!!

God be with you til we meet again

A cowboy on a horse came down after they set the coffin down and he was playing his harmonica and when he was close enough he started yodeling a song "back in the saddle again"-gpa ward loves yodeling! it was very special and appropriate.
Gma Ward and some daughters. what an amazing family

The beautiful coffin and beautiful cemetery.

Most of the grandsons/pallbearers. The view from the cemetery was so beautiful. the only problem was there were a bazillion mosquitos.

So much has happened...first of all Dean's grandpa Ward passed away a couple weeks ago. They are from Paris, ID so that is where the funeral was. It was such a fun funeral. That is kind of an oxymoron but what I mean is the speakers told so many wonderful, funny, cute stories about gpa ward. They talked about how he loves singing how he lost part of his hearing but he could still harmonize, they talked about his love for the tabernacle in Paris, ID, our Uncle Philip talked about how he had asked gpa ward if he could have half a day off from work (they had a farm and a lot of land) Gpa ward said "sure you can have 12 hours off. You can choose whether the first 12 hours or the second 12 hours" he taught them how to work hard. It was so fun to see the whole family, there were some cousins that I had never even met.
The gospel truly does make everything seem a little better than it really is. Thank goodness for the plan of salvation!!! Both of Dean's grandpas and one of mine are up there doing the Lord's work and time is not an issue for them so I'm sure to them it will be no time when all of us are there. I love being a member of the true and everlasting church!!!

Camping and more camping

Well Dean and I have had so much fun this past month....(I put these pics in the wrong order) We first had a Hansen reunion at St.Charles Canyon by Bear Lake. We rode four wheelers around and played with the kids and ate alot! Then a day after we got back from that we went with my family to the classic, beautiful, amazing Redfish Lake in Stanley, ID. I have been to this almost every year since I was born and I never get old of it. It will always take my breath away and make me happy. so we got camped out but it was a lot of fun!!! I just love summer time!!

My brother, Matt, found this huge rock in the water almost in the middle of the lake and so we rode Scott's boat and stood on it. I was only on this rock for a couple mins but my feet went numb in seconds! it was so cool and I liked how Matt's pic turned out.
matt-moo-icky-poo!!! ha ha

Dustin really wanted to ride the wave runner all by himself so when he first got on instead of heading out to the middle of the lake he turned and hit the gas and went along the shore line we were all screaming and worried cuz there are rocks all over the shore so luckily he missed the rocks and Dean hopped on the other wave runner and rode along him so he didn't get to close to things. afterward it was really funny!!!Dustin in a happy mood! which is something to note.
Dean caught a Bull trout and had to release it cuz it is endagered. I was glad he got a day liscence cuz he just loves fishing and had a good time. I have a video of him reeling in a big trout and right when Scott was about to net it the line broke. It was a sad, funny moment!
The Smith clan!! Before we took this picture Scott said to my parents, "look at all the trouble you caused!"
My most favorite thing to do...Float the Salmon River!!! just stopping at the natural hot springs...it was too hot to get in and the river was too cold! this is so Idaho, either too hot or too cold.
Hunter and his dad floating. Hunter is so funny he talks in third person so for example: I asked him if he could show me his balloon helicopter and he said "-Ter blow it up easy." He's a man with few words! it was so funny just talking back to him like that. so i would say things like, "Ter wanna float river?" I had so much fun with him!
Dean not ready for the picture about to float the river it was super cold water and there was a deer skeleton on this drop off spot so we had a few laughs.
trying to get a good pic with the mtns. I don't like how they turned out but here is the best one.
our first night in wood river. I'm holding cute chubby good natured Bodie (my sister, Mindy's baby) I had so much fun cuddling with him and kissing his cheeks off!
The beautiful Redfish Lake...
Maxee the most spoiled out of the family. and I admit I like to spoil her too!! She didn't like staying tied up and got loose once and chased some deer across the road and up a hill by our campsite good thing she listens to my dad when he says to come back cuz if not we would have lost her forever!
Playing horse shoes in Wood River. Dean is really good at this game and that's why I like to be on his team!

Now here are the pics from St. Charles....

Cute baby Owen (Dean's brother, Dillon's baby) Annie and I ran a 5k (My FIRST one!!) in Garden City the last day camping. It was so much fun we both took turns pushing Owen and he was the first baby to cross the finish line!! I used to hate to run and now I love it!! I someday will work up to a half marathon but for now I like the 5ks Annie, me and some cousins from the Ward side. Jessica Ward on the far right was the one who put this 5k together and she did a good job! Our new tent!!! it seriously is the best tent I have ever slept in. I haven't slept in many tents cuz my parents always had a camper but this one is so nice! Dean's favorite feature is where the fly goes to a point in front of the door so it keeps your shoes nice and dry! Dean took Clarissa for a ride and this is what she came back looking like! She is so funny!! Dean and I in charge of Breakfast! He did most of the work cuz I had to keep going to the fire cuz I was freezing! Dean wrecked on a razor scooter. He wouldn't let me take a pic of all the blood and rocks in it so here is the bandages. he ripped a bigger hole in his already existing hole in his jeans. This is Wyatt, Annie says he always wears a helmet I think that is good cuz he is so brave and tough. I have a video that I couldn't download of him riding this scooter to the top of this road hill and he would just zoom down it and smile and once in a while he would hit a little rock and it would wobble, his eyes would go big but he would get control and keep going. He seriously is so fun!!! He is so athletic and people keep tellin me he looks like Dean when he was younger. I'm excited to see if we have any boys if they will look similar. I just love this boy!! Dean having fun with Dillon's new bow. It took him a few trys to get it all the way pulled cuz I think it is a 70 lbs compound bow. I couldn't even budge it.Stu tried out the bow first and his front elbow must have been hyperextended so when he released it it whipped his arm. Sorry I had to post this cuz it is a cool battle wound!pulling faces with kirsten's kids, Clarissa and Ross. the last night we were there they both would tie me up and I was their horse. Clarissa would pet my head and tell me (my horse name was Nauvoo), "nauvoo you want a drink?" it was so fun!

I just love family and spending time with them! I'm so grateful for the Plan of happiness and how we can all be together! I can't believe how big our families are getting and one day Dean and I can add to that:) not for a while tho! Isn't it amazing what a difference having a close family makes! I think I would hate life if I didn't have a wonderful husband and amazing families!!

anyway....we love camping!!

Crafts, goals, and American Red Cross....

Well I thought I would update a little bit. While going to school, like every college student knows, it is hard to have time to do things that I enjoy...such as crafts and having a clean place everyday and not just on saturdays. Well with the xray program I get all of July off and I am so excited here are a few things that I have planned:

-sewing:skirt,quilt,and a cover for my wonderful Bosch
-cook Dean nice meals
-get all of our extra things in containers with labels
-READ all the books I want
-crafts:magnet recipe holder
-possibly move to a house we are thinking of buying:)-I'll blog later about this....
I probably won't get all these things accomplished but I'm gonna try!
So with writing about crafts here is a few that I want to keep record of. I seriously have no idea how I found the time to do these things but I did
I got these leaves up Logan Canyon and I just love the simplicity of them and the contrast of the colors. I made two others that look a little different.

My sister in law, Annie, inspired me to do this..it is a cereal box with wrapping paper to hold our Ensigns.

I did this during Christmas break. Annie again inspired me to do this. I just love her taste. this was one of the most fun things i have made.

Dean and I went up to Mink Creek where we used to live and next to the house is where Dean's dad lived in an old cabin. They put new windows in and I found a cool looking window they were gonna throw away and turned it into something patriotic!

So the other day Dean signed us up during church to donate blood. I have never donated cuz either I didn't weigh enough or didn't have enough blood (this is true and I was glad to use these as an excuse but really I am just afraid of needles). So I told myself since I work in a hospital and I give IVs all the time so I figure it is my duty to donate blood cuz it really is an important thing to do. After finding out I wasn't anemic anymore I got the courage to do it cuz I couldn't use an excuse anymore. The needle gage is pretty big compared to the ones I use but I was brave and it didn't even hurt!!! Dean said he was so proud of me and he was in the seat next to me so after I got up he gave me a high five! ha ha...and being dumb like I am sometimes, I worked out the next morning and started getting dizzy and I felt the blood leave my head and I started to white out. So I took it easy the rest of the day. So this was the first (and not the last) time I donated blood!!
