Camping and more camping

Well Dean and I have had so much fun this past month....(I put these pics in the wrong order) We first had a Hansen reunion at St.Charles Canyon by Bear Lake. We rode four wheelers around and played with the kids and ate alot! Then a day after we got back from that we went with my family to the classic, beautiful, amazing Redfish Lake in Stanley, ID. I have been to this almost every year since I was born and I never get old of it. It will always take my breath away and make me happy. so we got camped out but it was a lot of fun!!! I just love summer time!!

My brother, Matt, found this huge rock in the water almost in the middle of the lake and so we rode Scott's boat and stood on it. I was only on this rock for a couple mins but my feet went numb in seconds! it was so cool and I liked how Matt's pic turned out.
matt-moo-icky-poo!!! ha ha

Dustin really wanted to ride the wave runner all by himself so when he first got on instead of heading out to the middle of the lake he turned and hit the gas and went along the shore line we were all screaming and worried cuz there are rocks all over the shore so luckily he missed the rocks and Dean hopped on the other wave runner and rode along him so he didn't get to close to things. afterward it was really funny!!!Dustin in a happy mood! which is something to note.
Dean caught a Bull trout and had to release it cuz it is endagered. I was glad he got a day liscence cuz he just loves fishing and had a good time. I have a video of him reeling in a big trout and right when Scott was about to net it the line broke. It was a sad, funny moment!
The Smith clan!! Before we took this picture Scott said to my parents, "look at all the trouble you caused!"
My most favorite thing to do...Float the Salmon River!!! just stopping at the natural hot springs...it was too hot to get in and the river was too cold! this is so Idaho, either too hot or too cold.
Hunter and his dad floating. Hunter is so funny he talks in third person so for example: I asked him if he could show me his balloon helicopter and he said "-Ter blow it up easy." He's a man with few words! it was so funny just talking back to him like that. so i would say things like, "Ter wanna float river?" I had so much fun with him!
Dean not ready for the picture about to float the river it was super cold water and there was a deer skeleton on this drop off spot so we had a few laughs.
trying to get a good pic with the mtns. I don't like how they turned out but here is the best one.
our first night in wood river. I'm holding cute chubby good natured Bodie (my sister, Mindy's baby) I had so much fun cuddling with him and kissing his cheeks off!
The beautiful Redfish Lake...
Maxee the most spoiled out of the family. and I admit I like to spoil her too!! She didn't like staying tied up and got loose once and chased some deer across the road and up a hill by our campsite good thing she listens to my dad when he says to come back cuz if not we would have lost her forever!
Playing horse shoes in Wood River. Dean is really good at this game and that's why I like to be on his team!

Now here are the pics from St. Charles....

Cute baby Owen (Dean's brother, Dillon's baby) Annie and I ran a 5k (My FIRST one!!) in Garden City the last day camping. It was so much fun we both took turns pushing Owen and he was the first baby to cross the finish line!! I used to hate to run and now I love it!! I someday will work up to a half marathon but for now I like the 5ks Annie, me and some cousins from the Ward side. Jessica Ward on the far right was the one who put this 5k together and she did a good job! Our new tent!!! it seriously is the best tent I have ever slept in. I haven't slept in many tents cuz my parents always had a camper but this one is so nice! Dean's favorite feature is where the fly goes to a point in front of the door so it keeps your shoes nice and dry! Dean took Clarissa for a ride and this is what she came back looking like! She is so funny!! Dean and I in charge of Breakfast! He did most of the work cuz I had to keep going to the fire cuz I was freezing! Dean wrecked on a razor scooter. He wouldn't let me take a pic of all the blood and rocks in it so here is the bandages. he ripped a bigger hole in his already existing hole in his jeans. This is Wyatt, Annie says he always wears a helmet I think that is good cuz he is so brave and tough. I have a video that I couldn't download of him riding this scooter to the top of this road hill and he would just zoom down it and smile and once in a while he would hit a little rock and it would wobble, his eyes would go big but he would get control and keep going. He seriously is so fun!!! He is so athletic and people keep tellin me he looks like Dean when he was younger. I'm excited to see if we have any boys if they will look similar. I just love this boy!! Dean having fun with Dillon's new bow. It took him a few trys to get it all the way pulled cuz I think it is a 70 lbs compound bow. I couldn't even budge it.Stu tried out the bow first and his front elbow must have been hyperextended so when he released it it whipped his arm. Sorry I had to post this cuz it is a cool battle wound!pulling faces with kirsten's kids, Clarissa and Ross. the last night we were there they both would tie me up and I was their horse. Clarissa would pet my head and tell me (my horse name was Nauvoo), "nauvoo you want a drink?" it was so fun!

I just love family and spending time with them! I'm so grateful for the Plan of happiness and how we can all be together! I can't believe how big our families are getting and one day Dean and I can add to that:) not for a while tho! Isn't it amazing what a difference having a close family makes! I think I would hate life if I didn't have a wonderful husband and amazing families!!

anyway....we love camping!!

Crafts, goals, and American Red Cross....

Well I thought I would update a little bit. While going to school, like every college student knows, it is hard to have time to do things that I enjoy...such as crafts and having a clean place everyday and not just on saturdays. Well with the xray program I get all of July off and I am so excited here are a few things that I have planned:

-sewing:skirt,quilt,and a cover for my wonderful Bosch
-cook Dean nice meals
-get all of our extra things in containers with labels
-READ all the books I want
-crafts:magnet recipe holder
-possibly move to a house we are thinking of buying:)-I'll blog later about this....
I probably won't get all these things accomplished but I'm gonna try!
So with writing about crafts here is a few that I want to keep record of. I seriously have no idea how I found the time to do these things but I did
I got these leaves up Logan Canyon and I just love the simplicity of them and the contrast of the colors. I made two others that look a little different.

My sister in law, Annie, inspired me to do this..it is a cereal box with wrapping paper to hold our Ensigns.

I did this during Christmas break. Annie again inspired me to do this. I just love her taste. this was one of the most fun things i have made.

Dean and I went up to Mink Creek where we used to live and next to the house is where Dean's dad lived in an old cabin. They put new windows in and I found a cool looking window they were gonna throw away and turned it into something patriotic!

So the other day Dean signed us up during church to donate blood. I have never donated cuz either I didn't weigh enough or didn't have enough blood (this is true and I was glad to use these as an excuse but really I am just afraid of needles). So I told myself since I work in a hospital and I give IVs all the time so I figure it is my duty to donate blood cuz it really is an important thing to do. After finding out I wasn't anemic anymore I got the courage to do it cuz I couldn't use an excuse anymore. The needle gage is pretty big compared to the ones I use but I was brave and it didn't even hurt!!! Dean said he was so proud of me and he was in the seat next to me so after I got up he gave me a high five! ha ha...and being dumb like I am sometimes, I worked out the next morning and started getting dizzy and I felt the blood leave my head and I started to white out. So I took it easy the rest of the day. So this was the first (and not the last) time I donated blood!!

LaKe PoWeLL!!

So I have never been to Lake Powell and Dean and I planned on going during memorial day with his sis Kirsten and her family. I was so excited not just to go to Lake Powell but I haven't seen the sun in a long time! Dean and I and his little bro, Boone, went down a day early stayed one night at our Aunt Karen's house then went to the lake. For this trip Dean's job included: picking up his parent's tent, getting the cooler. so the day we are leaving and packing up, the cooler was too small so we decided to leave some things home and the day we get there, I was starting dinner and Dean and Boone were putting the two tents up and Dean accidentially grabbed the wrong tent for us, he grabbed the one that takes forever to put up and it's missing some pieces and so on...So we laughed pretty hard about it because we ended up sleeping in Boone's tent(he said it was a 3 man but i'm pretty sure it wasn't) After we set it up Dean looked at it and said,"who wants to spoon Boone?" ha ha it was so funny so of course Dean was in the middle. I bet it was quite the picture with little bumps on the sides of the tent, which are our heads and feet cuz that is how small it was! The next morning we played some frisbee until Kirsten and Steve got there with their trailer and boat. So we went boating, skiing, wake boarding, surfing, and cliff jumping! We spent the next 2 nights in the trailer and canned the tent. It was so much fun being in the sun and not worrying about school! I love vacations!!

wake surfin!! so fun!!! on our last day there Dean and I went without the rope for quite a while! and we could only do it with the Miley Cyrus song "party in the USA" cliff jumping....i actually hate bridge and cliff jumping but I can never say no to it so here we are and in real life my jump seemed pretty big and so did Boone and Deans but in my pics it looks like a kiddy slide jump! ha ha it was fun tho cuz we had to do a little rock climbing to get up there and we saw a lizard!

Boone's attempt at his 2nd ever backflip off the boat and instead of jumping up and out off the deck he went straight up and then down right by the deck so when he turned under water and came up his nose hit the deck ouch! sorry Boone but it was funny:)

Dean surfin....he really didn't use the rope that much..

my first ever backflip!!!!! ya!!! well half of a back flip cuz i land on my head in the water but it was still cool

My broinlaw, Steve, and his daughter, Clarissa. It was so fun watching them do this cuz she was singing along with the song "popular" from wicked.ya that is my husband!!!!!! this was the only pic i got of him and he is letting go of the rope but on all his other jumps he didn't.... he really is an amazing athlete!

trying to set up the tent with missing pieces!

Ended up in an itty bitty tent with Boone!!! ha ha

Dean throwing us off the boat while we were supposed to get a cute pic with our matching suits! ha ha When Dean saw what color of swimming suit I got him he said,"oh we're gonna get made fun of!" ha ha I love it!

Clarissa and Ross mouths full of fruit by the foot! Poor Clarissa and her baby sis, Addie, were puking every night when they went to bed. Dean said he could hear them from our room next to there beds but thank goodness I couldn't!! On the boat one day Dean was juggling his pecks, flexing them, and Cai and Ross would poke at them and he would stop then they would poke again and he would flex them again. Then they said, "what's wrong with your milk?" ha ha It was so funny!!

"Life is to be enjoyed not just endured"

So my finals are over for spring semester and Dean will be done next week, so life (like always) has been busy and stressful. I start summer semester next week and I'm going to take my P.T. exam to be a limited xray tech, so hopefully I can get paid to take pics. At the hospital I'm starting to do the operating room exams and fluoro exams by myself! So I'm trying to cram in all the info. but it is coming along. I was helping with an ERCP exam (gallstone removal) and the doctor patted me on the back and told me that I did a good job. it was great to hear that, cuz it really motivates me to do work harder. I'm so blessed and grateful I got into this xray program it has taught me alot about myself and how hard I can push myself.
Dean has been doing awesome on his exams! He works more than part time and goes to school full time and is always positive. He is a great example to me! I'm so lucky!!
These are the times when I think of Pres. Hinckley saying, "Life is to be enjoyed not just endured"
Enought typing here are some pics to show what we've been up to....

Our last weekend with Shalese. We hung around the Hansen's house then went up and shot skeet! I love shooting skeet!!! I don't know why but it is so much fun! I can't wait until I get my hunters ed so I can go hunting.
I watched the monkeys for an afternoon. Annie and Dillon's kids Parker and Wyatt. I'm told that Wyatt, on the right, looks like Dean when he was little. so who knows maybe my boys, if i have any, will look similar to Wyatt. I would like that!

Dean makes fun of me but I love ducks!!! Really I love all animals but ducks are so cute and this pic reminds me of the disney show, Aristocats, when the geese say " Bottoms Up!"

Dean and I spending the first warm sunny day of spring at willow park. I just love spending time with my companion!!

Shalese after she was set a part to be a sister missionary! We are gonna miss her and her contagious laugh. I look sick in this picture cuz the night before I had a weird reaction to peanut butter and was spewing all night! My favorite food is now my enemy!!

My manly hunter:) Dean is an excellent shooter!
We had a little scare a couple of weeks ago. I went to a dermatologist to see these funny spots on my body and he didnt' know what they were he gave me two options of what they could be and one of them was cancer so he had 2 biopsies done and thankfully they came back negative but they did come back with something. syringomas:an accumulation of glands. it's very rare and it won't hurt me unless they go nuts like a weird mole or freckle does when it turns to cancer. This is doctor Dean taking out my stitches!

I think I'm really starting to like sewing. I made this all by myself at my mom's. It's a tablerunner.

This is Easter weekend with my family. Both my grandmas are holding the newest members of our family! Bodie is on the left with Gma Carpenter and who is 3 weeks older than Jacob on the right held by Gma Smith. so adorable!!

Dean and I played some fun games at my friend Tiffani's place. This is me trying to get a cookie from my forehead to my mouth without touching it or moving too much. I had to use all my face muscles. it was hilarious!!

VDAY, BDAY, and BODIE!!!!

Hey it has been too long but here are a few pics and words....
so my big sis had her baby boy on the 5th they named him Bodie Taylor Blake. he is the cutest newborn i have ever seen! And i am so glad he is in our family, i just love spoiling my nieces and nephews!!! Bodie's sister, my niece, Sadee, asked me when i went to their hospital room if i was having my baby tomorrow?! ok either i've been gaining a little weight or she just figures i have to have one cuz her mom had one. It was so funny! (mindy dont kill me for putting this pic on my blog)

I Love Bodie!!!!

Dean shocked me with this amazing handmade shelf he made me for my 22nd birthday! Dean isn't very good at keeping things from me and suprising me but he did amazing for my bday and valentines day! I have to give him credit! i can't wait to paint it and hang it up!!

For valentine's day Dean sent flowers to me at the hospital while i was working and I was totally suprised! it was so fun and I'm just so thankful for him!
